An Open Fun Run/Walk in Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx at Broadway and 246th Street on June 1st, 2019. This will be a timed event. Registration open and donations are accepted year round. Participants can Run or Walk one to three laps of the Parade Ground Track.

It is an opportunity for friends, colleagues, athletes, and community members to come together, enjoy the outdoors, and to raise money for a rare and underfunded form of cancer.
Sarcomas are a rare form of cancer, affecting patients of all ages. Many of these sarcomas arise in otherwise healthy children and young adults and inflict a tremendous toll on both the patient and their family. The Division of Orthopedic Oncology at Montefiore Medical Center is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with both soft-tissue and bone sarcomas. In addition, our laboratory seeks to better understand how these tumors arise and in turn, how to better treat them. Together with the Sarcoma Strong Initiative - we are hosting this event to raise funds for the ongoing fight against sarcoma. Help us raise funding to support both the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society through the Sarcoma Strong Initiative - as well as to support our own Musculoskeletal Oncology Laboratory. Because sarcomas are relatively rare - there is much less available funding for this type of cancer. Therefore - your support can make a big difference. Join in the fight and help support our efforts!
DAY OF EVENT DETAILS:
We will assemble at 8:00 AM.

If you are driving into the event - please remember to allow extra time to park. There are some lots and meters on Broadway; however it may be best to travel via public transportation.
Take the #1 train to the last stop - Van Cortlandt 242nd Street.
Restrooms are available in front of the park.
